The expansion card is external card that is used to add some
functionality to a computer via expansion bus. One end of the expansion card
holds the connection of new device and other is connected with motherboard. So it
provides the electrical connectivity between device and mother board.
For example you can add graphics card to give your computer
3D graphics power. You can also add other card as well like sound card,
firewire or USB ports and other expansion cards. T use traditional card because
of the size factor.
